Marvelous hand crafted jewelry, baskets and objects were sold to help support the Connect Africa Foundation Library in Uganda.
Just as the WLC begins celebrating its sixth year of operation as a community run and funded library, the Connect Africa Foundation library in Uganda enters its tenth year.
These two libraries separated by thousands of miles collaborate on their shared mission – community service.
Patio Brick Sale of 2018! For a limited time only, the Waban Library Center is offering a sale on our inscribed bricks. If you buy one 4×8 brick for $100 you get a second brick for only $50. Get together with friends and share the cost! (Two bricks must be purchased at the same time.) The larger 8×8 brick costs $250. All proceeds go to buy books for the Waban Library Center.
The Waban Library Center has become your community center. Why not have your child inscribe his or her own brick as a lasting gift? Buying a brick is a way of contributing to your gathering place. We are always here and we are still solely supported by donations from people like you!
There are three easy ways to purchase a brick. First, if you can read and print pdf documents on your computer, you can click on either of the forms below, print it out and mail it in with your check. Second, you can come into the library with your check and we will have the forms at the front desk. Third, if you have any problems you can email us at email@example.com and we will help you.
Did you know that the WLC has been running as an independent volunteer-run library for five years? We want our library to remain open as a vibrant community center, a place to hear an author speak, borrow a new book or take a class!
We are asking you to help us achieve our goal of raising $20,000. You can buy a brick that will be part of the patio for generations to come. It will carry your message of tribute, celebration, or memorial. You and your family will be inscribed as part of Waban Village. There is no limit to the number of bricks you can purchase.
Thank you for your support of the Waban Library Center.
Celebrated illustrator/author, Scott Magoon, kept a young crowd of 24 kids and parents enthralled Saturday at the Waban Library Center. Illustrating, singing, leading us in dance in his polka dot pants! His books can be found at the WLC, if you missed his “show.”
A note from Scott Magoon: “It was wonderful to meet you and your kind staff yesterday. Thanks so much for a wonderful visit; everything was so well organized and I was pleased with the turnout. Hope you guys were too!”
