Kids Book Club April 25th 6:30 pm

Kids Book Club!
The next WLC Kids Book Club will be on TUESDAY, April 25, AT 6:30 PM. The book will be CRENSHAW by Katherine Applegate. It is a fabulous book about a family falling on hard financial times, and it is told from the child’s perspective. Crenshaw is the boy’s imaginary friend who reappears to help him work through the tough times.

Newton Serves right here in Waban! April 30th 12:30-3:00 pm.

A message from the head of the Waban project.

Volunteers are needed to help mulch the beds in and around Waban Square: by the T, on Wyman St, in front of Starbucks, and possibly the WLC if there is time. This is a great project for everyone: families, elders, or people with disabilities, since there are jobs for everyone, from filling plastic buckets to wheeling wheelbarrows to the beds, and spreading the mulch. The city provides the mulch (and some snacks) and we provide the manpower. If you can help, please sign up at the NewtonServes Website (on the City of Newton page). If you have any questions, please let me know.
