
The Waban Library Center (WLC) is a non-profit community library formed by the Waban Improvement Society in 2009 after the closure of the former Waban branch of the Newton Free Library. Staffed solely by volunteers and funded completely by program revenues and private donations, the WLC serves as a gateway for lifelong learning and as a hub for intellectual, cultural, social, and physical enrichment. In addition to circulating books, we offer an abundant selection of classes, exhibits and programs. The WLC is open to all; it is your place – enjoy our collection of books, catch up with a friend, behold works of visiting artists, connect your laptop in our wireless environment, learn a new language, play an instrument, attend a concert or lecture, take a yoga class, engage with your community.
