Waban Library Center
1608 Beacon Street
Waban, MA 02468
The WLC is located in the heart of Waban Village at 1608 Beacon Street, Newton, Massachusetts. Located at the corner of Beacon and Woodward Streets in the heart of Waban Square, the library connects the “upper” and “lower” commercial areas of the village, thereby affording patrons the convenience of utilizing other services and retail needs in one stop, as well as providing nearby merchants with the benefits of greater pedestrian traffic. It is the only public library centered between two public elementary schools, thereby serving as a safe, stimulating destination for students and teachers to walk. It also neighbors two preschools, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a food pantry.
Street parking is available and a parking lot dedicated to library patrons is located in the rear of the building.
We are the only public library in Newton that is accessible by the T, creating greater accessibility for those who do not drive, such as children, students, the elderly and disabled, along with the environmentally minded and health conscious. We are a short walk from the Waban T stop on the Green Line.
