The Waban Improvement Society is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of A Waban Childhood, a memoir by George R. Nugent. Now a resident of New Hampshire, George grew up in Waban in the 1930s and 1940s and shares charming anecdotes and memories of those days. A Waban Childhood picks up in the period shortly after the earlier work Waban, Early Days left off, describing the tranquil youthful pursuits of George and his friends, upon which the Great Depression and World War II scarcely intruded. A Waban Childhood will be available for purchase for $20. The Waban Library welcomes George Nugent for an Author Chat and Book Signing on April 16.
