Author Talk with Kerri Maher
On a mid-January Thursday night, the WLC was cozy and alive as author Kerri Maher gave twenty-five attendees the inside story of The Kennedy Debutante, her novel about Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy, of the storied Kennedy clan. The book, available at the Waban Library Center, is a fascinating depiction of London and Boston during World War II, when Joe Kennedy, Kathleen's father, was the American ambassador to the embattled England. Kathleen was presented at the 1939 Debutante Ball in London and we follow her love story as she and the Duke of Devonshire's heir, Bill, fall in love. Religion on both sides strive to keep them apart, but love finds a way.
The Waban Library Center loves to be that place where you can meet an author in an intimate setting and enjoy that moment with free refreshments and a chance to buy the book.
